Today, information isn't just reported, it’s engineered. Generative AI and shock-jock journalism floods our daily lives with synthetic noise, while social media algorithms reward outrage, fracture public discourse, and isolate us into echo chambers.
At the same time, an insider media class sits comfortably alongside the political elite, trading access for narrative control. Meanwhile, independent voices, grassroots journalists, and those journalists attempting to play by ethical rules are systematically sidelined and left behind.
When the systems designed to inform us instead serve to manufacture consent and protect status-quo power, how do we reclaim the truth and the power to create change?
Together, we’ll move beyond the myth of media neutrality and the belief that media is an end in itself, confronting both its immense power to shape our world and its irrelevance without real-world, grassroots action.
