Join Emma Davidson MLA and Greens Senator Jordon Steele-John for a discussion about disability pride.

Hi Canberra! Let’s talk disability pride.

But what is disability pride? If you’re new to the concept, disability pride is a movement that celebrates disabled people and the strength of our community.

Disability pride comes from a process of self-acceptance and letting go of learned shame. Having disability pride doesn’t mean that you are happy about all the challenges that ableism causes you. But it does mean that you accept yourself, you’re proud of who you are and you’re proud of the community you belong to.

Join Australian Greens Senator and spokesperson for Disability Rights and Services Jordon Steele-John, ACT Greens Minister for Disability, Emma Davidson, and other ACT disability advocates at the Belconnen Arts Centre’s Dance Studio for a discussion about what we can achieve together when we are uncompromisingly, fearlessly, proudly ourselves!

Registration is free.

The Belconnen Arts Centre is a single level building and is wheelchair and mobility aid accessible.

This event will have a COVID Safety Plan to minimise the risks posed by COVID-19.
