Multinational gas corporations are ripping us off. Over half of Australia’s gas is exported without paying a cent in royalties, and these companies make billions while ordinary Aussies are told to tighten our belts.
But if we taxed gas exports, we could make over $17 billion a year – money for schools, hospitals, housing, cost of living relief, and the transition to clean, secure energy.
That’s why we are fighting for a minimum 25% export tax on gas revenue.
Woodside and the gas lobby are powerful, but they don't have the support of our community. With 3 in 5 people supporting a gas tax, we are building the momentum to force Labor to finally defy their gas company donors.
This campaign gives us an opportunity to build hope through collective action There will be a variety of tactics with options for everyone to get involved.

On the 10th of October we will be Letter Blasting the suburb of Kewdale.
Meet us at 10:00am at Tomato Lake. Under the trees near the Oats Street carpark. Bring a hat and some good walking shoes.
We will hear from Senator Steele-John about the need for a gas tax. Then, take our maps and a stack of gas tax flyers to deliver nearby. After that, we will meet back at the lake for a BBQ with vegan and gluten-free options.
