Please join us for dinner with NSW MLC Sue Higginson as we launch Charlotte’s campaign to contest the Lord Mayoral vacancy created by the resignation of Dr Ross Kerridge.

As you know, Dr Kerridge stepped back from his Lord Mayoral duties in late 2025 to undergo treatment for non-Hodgkin lymphoma. During that time, Charlotte was appointed Acting Lord Mayor — a responsibility she carried out with her characteristic calm, integrity and competence.

Following his return to duties, Dr Kerridge has now formally resigned, paving the way for a Lord Mayoral by-election.

Charlotte is the only candidate in this race with the proven experience, strong community recognition, and clear policy vision needed to lead Newcastle with confidence. We believe she has a genuine opportunity to win — and to provide the steady, community-focused leadership our city deserves.
