We are grateful to be joined by special guest Imam Zohair Rahman, Greens Senator for Queensland Penny Allman-Payne and other guest speakers to be announced soon, so stay tuned for more details.
Our Iftar is open to everyone and you don’t need to be political to join us. It will be a relaxing, family-friendly environment with engaging and informative guest speakers. We will be providing vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free meals to share.
Children are welcome to join with a kids’ corner provided too.
We strongly encourage you to invite your friends, family, and wider community to join along.
The event is free, however we will have a cap on attendees and require guest numbers for catering, so please register your interest now!
Doors open at 5:30pm with a room available for prayers and some light refreshments to break the fast before dinner. The event will formally start from 6:20pm, with the sunset Adhan prayer following directly.
Event Accessibility: This event will be indoors in a wheelchair accessible hall, with accessible bathrooms too. The event is family friendly and a kids' corner will be provided.
Prayer: There will be one prayer room, with separate men’s & women’s spaces. Some large mats will be available, but please bring your own prayer mat if you are able.
Getting to the venue: There is free parking on-site. Public transport is available via 175 and 176 bus routes.
COVID-19 Safety: We ask that if you're not feeling well to please stay home. Masks and hand sanitiser will be provided for any participants wishing to use one.
