The ACT Greens working group structure empowers members to drive policy-making and campaigns on issues they care deeply about. We're looking at setting up a Disability Pride Working Group - are you interested?
If you’re new to the concept, disability pride is a movement that celebrates disabled people and the strength of our community.
Disability pride comes from a process of self-acceptance and letting go of learned shame.
Having disability pride doesn’t mean that you are happy about all the challenges that ableism causes you. But it does mean that you accept yourself, you’re proud of who you are and you’re proud of the community you belong to.
There's a lot happening in 2026 that will affect the lives of people with disability. This working group is for people with lived and living experience to discuss and advocate for the changes we want to see in our community.
This is an online-only meeting - please RSVP and the Zoom link will be emailed to you 2 days before the meeting (or immediately, if you're RSVPing at short notice).
