Join us for two inspiring films fighting for climate action on our planet.
Turning the Ship, a Rising Tide Short Film
Rising Tide – a fast growing grassroots climate justice movement – is excited to announce the release of Turning the Ship, a story of the extraordinary 2024 People’s Blockade of the World’s Largest Coal Port - the highs, the lows and the triumphs!
Whether you’ve been one of thousands at a recent People’s Blockade in Newcastle, you’re considering joining for the first time this year, or you’ve never even heard of it - this film screening is for you!
We'll be joined by Luke Dunlop who was at the 2024 People's Blockade for a special Q&A session after the screening.
Future Council Feature Film
Millions of children around the world are frustrated by the dire lack of action to protect the planet and their future. Until now, their only avenue to express these concerns has been protesting on the streets.
Director Damon Gameau (2040, That Sugar Film) takes eight children on an epic adventure across Europe in a school bus powered by biofuel. Their mission is to better understand the planet’s predicament, explore solutions and, most importantly, take the conversation from the streets, into the boardrooms of some of the world’s largest polluters and most influential companies.
Their bold, hopeful journey leads to the creation of a Future Council: young changemakers working with big business to shape a better world.
Doors open at 5pm with pizza and drinks available for purchase. Screening starts at 6pm. Join us for an inspiring night fighting for our planet.
