Pine Rivers Greens Potluck in the Park with Beny Bol OAM!

Join us for a free afternoon of shared food, truth-telling and action with Beny Aterdit Bol OAM, one of Queensland’s leading voices for racial justice!

The Pine Rivers Greens would love to see you at Pine Rivers Park on Saturday, 25 October! We're keen for an afternoon of conversations and social engagement, and we are excited to have Beny Aterdit Bol OAM joining us as a Guest Speaker!

We'll start off the afternoon by sharing our Potluck snacks at 2:30pm, ready to listen and learn from Beny from 3pm in the lovely surroundings of Pine Rivers Park.

Beny will be joined by Special Guest Senator Penny Allman-Payne to unpack what systemic racism looks like in Australia today — and how we can collectively dismantle it. Drawing on deep lived experience, political engagement, and community advocacy, Beny offers both sobering truths and hopeful strategies.

As part of this event, we are holding a fundraising raffle to raise funds for the Pine Rivers Greens and Beny's charity of choice, The Athiei Foundation, and we will be drawing the raffle at 4pm. You can buy tickets in advance for the raffle here!

What is a Potluck?

A potluck is a communal gathering where each guest or group contributes a different, often homemade, dish of food to be shared.

What to bring?

• Bring a dish to share (think of snacks or nibbles with easy portions, or fruit) and a serving spoon if needed!
• Please make a list of the ingredients in your dish so that folks with dietary restrictions can know what they can enjoy.

We will provide paper bowls and cutlery and serviettes for dishing up 

Accessibility 

Pine Rivers Park is wheelchair accessible, with cement paths connecting areas, and flat grass for the remainder. The Park also has a wheelchair-accessible toilet open to the public. 

The Park is an 800m walk from the Strathpine train station.

There is adequate parking at the Pine Rivers Park.
